If you receive an attachment, and you do not have any appropriate software program installed to open it, you can still view the contents (but not edit them). Also note that printing files from a viewer may give you unexpected results.

To view the attachment, double-click it and select View.
Or click to select the attachment, and select, Attachment > View:
