How to setup effective anti-spam for a DominoBlog
When running a blog you look for interactivity with the readers, typically via comments they submit to your postings. Unfortunately also content-spammers love to post their malicious content via these comments. In masses.
Luckily the dominoblog.ntf template comes with a very effective built-in anti-spam function.
Unfortunately it is not enabled by default. This article describes how to enable it.
Step 1. Open the configuration document
The anti-spam configuration is located in the configuration document of the blog database.
The the configuration document is accessible via Notes Client using the "advanced" item in the navigator pane.
Step 2. Enable the Anti Spam Check
In the configuration document navigate to the "Validation" tab under the "Discussions" tab.
All you need to do to enable the Anti Spam Check is to switch from "No" to "Yes" in the first field.
As you can see from the other fields of the form you can optimise the function further.
When making a field required the comment form will show a pop-up message with this text.
