Manual archive not working with DAMO 6.5.x

Technote Number: 1189639

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# SBOR65QGWF, and is fixed
in DAMO 6.5.5.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 6.5.5 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Replication
SPR# SBOR65QGWF - Documents moved from main mail store to other mail stores
will have their UNIDs removed and be deleted from the server. Prior to this
fix, messages that were archived were not removed from the server copy of the
mailfile.

Please refer to the following document for more information on local archive in
DAMO: "How does local archiving work in DAMO 6.5.5?" (#1212528)

The reason why these messages are not "automatically" removed from the server
store is the following:

DAMO removes messages from the server
store when they are emptied from the
trash. Other methods of moving messages out of Outlook are not captured by our
replicator. Archiving
is one of these instances. Another one is using the
"shift-delete"
function. When you hold down the SHIFT+DELETE keys, you
bypass the trash, and we do
not catch the delete operation.

The workaround for manual archive is the following with DAMO:

1. Create an archive through the traditional methods in Outlook.
2. Select the messages you would like to archive in DAMO.
3. Copy these messages.
4. Paste them into the archive.
5. If the messages are still selected in DAMO, you can go ahead and delete
them.
6. This will move them to the trash.
7. When you empty the trash, they will be removed from your archive.
