Lotus iNotes 8.5.2 - Detailed System Requirements 


This document contains the detailed system requirements for IBM Lotus iNotes 8.5.2


Client hardware requirements

 

Recommended for better performance

Windows -- Pentium IV 2.0 GHz with 512 MB of memory

Linux -- Pentium IV 2.0 GHz with 512 MB of memory

Macintosh -- Intel 2.0 GHz with 512 MB of memory

Minimum requirements

Windows -- Pentium III 1 GHz with 256 MB of memory

Linux -- Pentium III 1 GHz with 256 MB of memory

Macintosh -- G4 1 GHz 256 MB of memory 


Client operating systems and supported browsers
Lotus iNotes runs on the following client operating systems:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows Vista Business and Enterprise Editions, Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional, and Enterprise Editions on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms using the following browsers:

Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8

Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.13 or later, 3.0.x, 3.5.x, and 3.6    

Ultra-light accessible mode -- Mozilla Firefox 3.5.x and 3.6

 

Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 using the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.13 or later

Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 11 using the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox 3.0.x, 3.5.x, and 3.6

 

RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Desktop 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4 using the following browsers:

Apple iPhone and iPod Touch firmware version:  3.0.x, 3.1.x and 4.0 (for the ultra-light mode)

Smartphones running Google Android version: 2.1.x in WVGA resolution (for the ultra-light mode) 

Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 on Windows 2003

Clients using Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, on Windows 2003 server (32- and 64-bit), using Citrix ICA (Independent Computing Architecture). Note: Does not support Domino Off-Line Services (DOLS). Must use the 32-bit browser on a 64-bit version. 

Citrix XenApp Server 5.0 on Windows 2008 server  (32-bit or 64-bit)


Browser support notes

Attempting to access Lotus iNotes through unsupported browsers results in the display of an unsupported browser notice. Netscape 4.x users may see hangs and/or crashes when encountering the Lotus iNotes unsupported browser page. If you are a Netscape 4.x user and you encounter these problems, you should open your mail file using the WebMail UI directly through the &ui=webmail switch. This is documented in the topic "Switching to WebMail" in the Lotus iNotes help.

Lotus iNotes will not work if JavaScript is disabled or if session cookies are disabled.
