File Jockey is server software designed to connect third party apps and programs with the files stored in IBM Connections R4, R4.5 and R5.0. All apps and programs that support the WebDAV protocol are supported (Notability, Goodreader, Pages, Forklift (Mac), Foldersync (Android), Bitkinex (Windows), ...).

Via the WebDAV protocol File Jockey provides read and write access to private files, to folders, to Communities Files and Community Library Files, create new files, rename files, delete files, change files, create annotated PDF files, create folders, rename folders and delete folders. Read access to Documents Feeds, Libraries Feeds, Public folders, Shared by me, Shared with me, .... File Jockey will display the Communities the user has joined or Communities the user is following.

WebDAV is a standard; this means that not only Apple and Android device apps are supported – printers and fax machines support WebDAV as well. There are WebDAV programs on Windows, Linux and Mac computers that allow direct access to the files stored in the IBM Systems from PCs and servers.

File Jockey software is written in Java and can be executed on IBM Lotus Domino server (R8 and R9) and on any J2EE server like Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere. File Jockey can be installed on-premises or can be used in the Cloud via Lialis Cloud servers or IBM SmartCloud.

File Jockey is presented on the IBM Social Business website as an 'Integrated Application and Service' for IBM SmartCloud/Connections environments
