Admin client multi-database ACL name change modifies access level

Technote Number: 1110581

Problem:
This issue was been reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.5 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
Server Administration
SPR# JCOS5MCPJV - Multi Database ACL management may improperly set access
levels. This problem has been fixed.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

To reproduce the issue, perform the following steps:

Create two databases on a server called DB1 and DB2 using any template.
Add yourself as Manager to the ACL of both databases.
Add user Aaa Test/Team to the ACL of DB1 as type Person, access Manager.
Add user Aaa Test/Team to the ACL of DB2 as type Person, access No Access.
Open the Administration Client to the Files tab.
Expand the Database Tools.
Highlight both DB1 and DB2.
Click Manage ACL from the Database Tools list.
Click Modify under the Basics tab.
Enter the From name Aaa Test/Team.
Put a check in the Modify name box.
Enter the To name Aaa B Test/Team [see Figure 1 below]
Click OK.
Make sure that the Access option is set to: Leave current settings [see Figure
2 below]
Click OK and you should get the dialog that 2 changes were processed with no
errors.
Highlight DB1 in the files list, click Manage ACL, confirm the name was changed
and that the access is still manager.
Highlight DB2 and click Manage ACL.

Result: The Access for Aaa B Test/Team for DB2 is now Manager when it should be
No Access.

As a workaround, do not use the multi-database feature for name changes if the
ACL levels are not the same for the user in all selected databases.
