Secondary Address Books of DA Do Not Appear for Webmail Users

Technote Number: 1100737

Problem:
This behavior was submitted to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been
determined to be a limitation of the Webmail interface. There are certain
conditions under which a secondary directory provided by DA will not appear in
Webmail or will not function properly.

To summarize:

If a local replica of a directory is placed in the Data directory of a Domino
server, and if DA is enabled and pointing to that replica, then all users
accessing their mail files from that server via Webmail will have access to
that secondary directory.
If a local replica of a directory is placed in a directory outside the Data
directory of a Domino server (such as a subdirectory or the program directory),
then Webmail will display the directory. If a Webmail user attempts to access
it, however, no names will be available, and the following error will display:
"HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - ERROR specified in formula."
If a remote replica of a directory is used in DA, then that directory will not
appear on Webmail's drop down list of available address books.

A workaround for servers with Webmail users is to use local, not remote,
replicas of directories used in DA.

Note: A portion of this issue has been addressed in Domino 5.0.10.

Excerpt from the Notes/Domino Fix List Database (http://www.lotus.com/ldd):

SPR# DJOS4NMLCV - "Lotus Notes Exception - ERROR specified in formula" is
received when the Local NAB listed under Directory Assistance is located
anywhere except the DATA directory.
