Domino CD-to-MIME conversion corrupts attachments from Notes client on Mac OS X

Technote Number: 1153699

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and has been fixed in Domino
7.0.1.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 7.0.1 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
CD to MIME Conversion
SPR# JBAA5THS68 - Fixed a problem on the Macintosh platform that caused file
attachments to be corrupted.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

In one case, setting "Format for messages addressed to internet addresses" in
the user's Location document to "MIME Format" allowed the Notes client to
create the MIME, and no conversion was needed by Router.

Supporting Information:
Trapping the outbound messages in mail.box from both a Macintosh and Windows
client confirms the messages have the attachment intact and are viewable (prior
to conversion from CD to MIME).

Capturing the outbound message (post conversion), using .ST files captured
during outbound transfer, shows that the Base64 encoding of Macintosh
attachments are missing the final characters. Adding these characters and
retesting with the .ST file restored the fidelity of the attachment.
