DOLS Error with N_DOLBASE.INF When Installing Offline Using Alternate Ports

Technote Number: 1095132

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
DOLS 1.0.1.

This error can occur when the Domino server is configured to use an alternate
port for HTTP. For example, the default Domino HTTP port is 80, but the
administrator changes the port to 8080 on the Ports, Internet Ports tab in the
Server document. DOLS 1.0.1 now works with servers configured for alternate
ports.

NOTE: For an install to work successfully with Netscape clients with DOLS
1.0.1 on a server configured to use an alternate port, the Administrator must
manually add the alternate port to the WebControl page in any DOLS-enabled
databases. This related issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and
addressed in DOLS 1.0.2.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.6 QMR fix list:

Client Install - Uninstall
SPR# RAHO4NGKRW - Fixed a problem where users were unable to download a
Netscape plugin through port 8080 using a DOLS enabled database. This
regression was introduced in 5.0.5.

Supporting Information:

Excerpt from the Domino 5.0.5 Release Notes:

DOLS browser issues

Cannot download Netscape plugin from Domino server using alternate port
You cannot download the Netscape plugin from a Domino server that is using an
alternate port. For example, the default HTTP port on Domino is 80. If the
Administrator changes this port to 8080, Netscape users will be unable to
download/install a DOLS-enabled database because they cannot download the
Netscape plugin.
To work around this problem, have the system administrator manually add the
port 8080 into the page LoadWebControl where the URL is constructed. You can
then access this page when you view the design of the DOLS-enabled database
