Log.nsf is not updated after processing output from 'sh stats'

Technote Number: 1196827

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# MOAH683PCQ and has been
fixed in Domino 6.5.4 Fix Pack 1 (FP1), 6.5.5 and 7.0.

Excerpt from the Lotus Domino Release 6.5.5 MR and 6.5.4 Fix Pack 1 fix lists
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/):

Server
SPR# MOAH683PCQ - Fixed an intermittent hang when the 'show stats' command was
issued. The log.nsf file was not updated but users were able to connect to the
server without a problem. A workaround to this problem would be to restart the
server.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

Supporting Information:

A thread with exclusive access to the log.nsf resources (logsem) is stuck
trying to update a stat variable. It never completes and is stuck in Statupdate
and Lockstat functions, and never relinquishes any log.nsf resources. This
essentially blocks any future additions to the log.nsf.
In this case, the command was sent from a probing agent. The customer turned
off the agent to work around the issue.
