Domino Web Access users receive unexpected Mime001.txt or ATTxxxx file attachments

Technote Number: 1084216

Problem:
This problem was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# AKLG5N2GSZ, and has
been fixed in Domino Web Access (iNotes Web Access) 6.5.5 and 7.0.

Excerpt from the Lotus Domino Release 6.5.5 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Attachments
SPR# AKLG5N2GSZ - When two or more files of the same file type and file name
were attached to a mail message and sent via SMTP, the iNotes Web Access user
received the first attachment, but additional attachments were received as
mime001.txt files. When sent via NRPC, the files are named ATTxxxx.

Workaround:
The mime001.txt file can be opened by copying the file to the desktop and
opening it with the proper application. You can also rename the attachment
with its correct file extension once it is downloaded onto the desktop.

Another workaround is to simply send the attachments one at a time.

Supporting Information:

This issue was re-created with Adobe PDF files, Microsoft Word documents, GIF
files, and HTML files. Renaming the HTML and GIF files to mime001.html and
mime001.gif, respectively allowed them to be opened.
