Editing Contact in Notes and Doing iNotes Synchronize Causes Original Contact to Be Overwritten

Technote Number: 1113419

Problem:
This issue was fixed in Domino Web Access 6.0.3, 6.5, and 5.0.13.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.3 and 5.0.13 MR fix lists
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Contacts
SPR# KTOT5NSGXT - Copy and paste, then synchronize, now works without
overwriting the original contact. This problem has been fixed in 6.0.3/6.5 and
5.0.13.

Steps to Reproduce Issue:

1. Add a contact to your personal NAB and synchronize through Notes (via
Actions -> Synchronize Address Book). The popup dialog after synchronization
states 1 entry "added".
2. Through Notes Client select the contact, select, Edit -> Copy and then
select Edit ->. This creates a duplicate copy of your contact. Make the
desired changes to the copy. Notice that both entries remain in the PNAB even
after rebuilding the views. This is correct behavior.
3. Synchronize again and the popup dialog states 1 entry "updated"; not
"added". And the original is overwritten in iNotes while the original still
remains through Notes.

The same behavior will occur if you attempt to add a new contact for the same
person but with different information.
