Hidden field placed on all saved documents causes replication conflicts

Technote Number: 1225041

Problem:
The issue with the OriginalModTime field being placed on all saved documents
instead of only sent mail was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# AML6BES4H
and was fixed in the Notes/Domino 6.5.6 MR and 7.0.1 MR releases.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino 6.5.6 MR fix list and 7.0.1 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Design
SPR# AML6BES4H - Prior to this fix, the OriginalModTime item was incorrectly
put on all saved documents, when the router journaling program only needed it
for sent mail. This fix limits the scope of when this item is put on a
document, to only sent mail documents. This field can be added via the
following notes.ini variable:

SaveOriginalModTime=1 - always placed on any saved document
SaveOriginalModTime=2 - never placed on any document
Not set or any other value - placed on sent mails only

Supporting Information
This regression issue was introduced in Notes/Domino 6.5.3 by a fix for a Mail
Journaling issue which occurs when a message is re-edited and sent from the
Sent view. The issue regarding mail journaling not resending a mail was
reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# ANIA5WX4YJ and was fixed in
Notes/Domino release 6.5.3 and 7.0.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.3 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Journaling
SPR# ANIA5WX4YJ - Mail journaling works correctly, when mail is re-sent from
the original sender's mail file. Prior to this fix, message appeared to be
re-sent, but was not.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.
