Unable to login to Active Directory thru Directory Assistance with SAMAccountName

Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and has been fixed in Domino
release 6.5.6.

Directory Services
SPR# CPRE6E9MSY - When a Directory Assistance LDAP document's "Type of search
filter to use" is set to Active Directory, SAMAccountName values may now also
be used for authentication.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

Workaround
Prior to 6.5.6 you could change the search type to Custom, and set the
following authentication search filter:
(|(cn=%s)(uid=%s)(sn=%s)(SAMAccountName=%s)(givenname=%s)(mail=%s))
