Reschedule Issues with Existing Meetings and Reservations with R4/R5 Mail Files

Technote Number: 1096399


Problem:
These issues have been reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering, and
many of the issues have been fixed. Please refer to the tables above for more
information on the SPR(s) which correspond to the issue you are encountering
and their current R5 status.

Most of these issues, unless otherwise stated in the tables above, do not occur
when upgrading from 4.5x/4.6x to Notes 6.

Workarounds:

Table I. Coexistence Issues with Reservation Documents in Resource
Reservations Db
- no workarounds are needed for the issues represented in this table because
everything functions normally (for example, free time is accurate). The
incorrect field values are not used to calculate date/time changes in the newer
templates.

Table II. Upgrade Issues with Reservation Documents in Resource Reservations db
- For the last 3 issues in the table there are 2 workarounds (no workaround
needed for 1st issue):
A. revert to the 4.5x or 4.6x mail file design, or
B. after upgrading to R5, the chairperson should cancel and resend the meeting
invitations

Chairperson's Mail Files
- 2 workarounds:
A. revert to the 4.5x or 4.6x mail file design, or
B. after upgrading to R5, the chairperson should cancel and resend the meeting

SPR# WEL48BKKX - Fixed a problem where a rescheduled reservation from the mail
calendar displayed the wrong date in the reservation form.

SPR# XJIA4UE4DK - Fixed a problem where upgrading from R4.x to R5 and sending
out an invitation resulted in two messages being sent. This regression was
introduced in 5.0.

fix lists:

Calendar & Scheduling
SPR# EPOD4FRTLR, ICOR4LFT7K - Scheduling a meeting using R4.6x, then upgrading
to R5, and then changing the time of the meeting now correctly updates both the
StartTime and EndTime of the meeting. Previously, the 'StartDate' field was
correct but the 'EndDate' field was not.

Duplicate of #ICOR4LFT7K:

Calendaring & Scheduling - Repeating Calendar Entries - To Do's
SPR# APAI4K6MVW - Fixed EndTime field to update appropriately in order to fix
problems after upgrading mailfiles from 4.x to 5.x.. Previous to this fix the
"End Date" is not updated with new date after editing the 4.x calendar entry
under R5.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.5 QMR fix list:

Calendaring & Scheduling - Repeating Group Scheduling
SPR# MALZ4LXS9P - R4.5x and R4.6x repeating meetings that are upgraded to R5x
now include the correct $REF on reschedule notifications. Before this fix, R5
users were inhibited from responding to the notification.

Note: The fix was to make the action bar display, not to display all actions
(Respond, Respond with Comments) available to 5.x repeating meetings. The
upgraded repeating meetings contain less actions than 5.x repeating meetings.
This is by design.
