Problem:
This issue occurs if the doclinks exist both inside a Controlled Access Section
(CAS) and outside the CAS. The Notes links inside the CAS become corrupt after
the document has been saved if the editor of the document does not also have
edit access to the CAS. Notes links in this context means links to documents,
views, or databases. The issue, when observed with Hotspot links, occurs if
the Hotspot link is not dependent on a Hotspot link being present both inside
and outside the CAS.
There is no workaround beyond re-creating the link.
Notes Links
One condition in which this issue could occur with Notes links was addressed in
Notes Client releases 6.0.4, 6.5.2, and 7.0. There are no plans to address
this issue in the Notes 5.x codestream.

Embedded Applications
SPR# GFLY5JQUA5 - Links (document, view and/or database) in a controlled-access
section, that the user does not have access to, can be come corrupted if links
are added or removed elsewhere in the document.
Another condition in which the broken links would occur was fixed in 6.5.5 and
7.0.1.

lists (available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

SPR# DCOE6EG5AK - Pasted doclinks became database links when saved to a
computed rich text field. This problem has been fixed in 6.5.5 and 7.0.1, and
was a regression introduced in 6.5.2.
However, this fix introduced further cases of this problem (SPR# JSHN6KPP8G),
which have been fixed in releases 7.0.2 and 6.5.6.

lists (available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

SPR# JSHN6KPP8G - Fixed problems which prevent link corruption. This
regression was introduced in 6.5.5.
A cumulative client hotfix (CCH) is available for Notes Client 6.5.5 that fixes
the issue reported in SPR# JSHN6KPP8G. Since hotfixes do not receive the
extensive testing that maintenance releases and fix packs do, customers are
encouraged to implement workarounds or deploy a release containing the fix once
available. However, if workarounds are not possible or applicable and you
still need a fix, contact IBM Technical Support to request the CCH containing
the fix for this issue.
Hotspot Links
The issue with Hotspot links has been indirectly addressed in Notes Client
releases 6.0.5 and 6.5.4. and 7.0, when further updates were made to address
the Notes links (doclinks) issue.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.5 / 6.5.4 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
Editor
SPR# JHER66KLR5 - Doclinks in controlled-access sections that the user does not
have access to may be changed into database links when editing the document.
This regression was introduced in 6.5.2.
Yet more updates were made in 6.5.5:
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 6.5.5 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
Editor
SPR# BKOH6APFLJ - Hotspot links in access sections were not working. With this
fix, we are now correctly passing the information to determine if it's in a
controlled access section or not.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 6.5.6 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
LotusScript
SPR# FHEN6LLHWK - A hotspot link is no longer corrupted after uidoc.save. This
regression was introduced in 6.5.2.
