Main Request Handler Crashes Server while Processing Bad AdminP Requests

Technote Number: 1196825

Problem:
Using the dump of the compromised object with CHECKMARKER enabled, the customer
was able to identify the database and calendar entry involved. After deleting
the entry and running fixup/compact against the database, the server ran
without incident.
However, it was later determined that there were various potential memory
overwrite issues with the AdminP request handler that could induce such
crashes, especially if there were corrupt and/or bad requests in the mail file
being worked on.
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR #ETHU66THX9 and has been
addressed in Domino releases 6.0.5 and 6.5.4.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.5 / 6.5.4 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
SPR# ETHU66THX9 - Administration may crash if Data notes read during request
processing are corrupt. Safeguards
have been added so that memory is not overrun.
