'Suggested Times' in Free Time Dialog Displays Multi-Day Range and Shows Inaccurate Invitee Busytime

Technote Number: 1088085

Problem:
This problem occurs if one or more people in the Invite list of your invitation
(on the 'Meeting Invitations & Reservations' tab) does not have an available
time for approximately three weeks or more. This issue has been addressed in
the Notes 5.0.6 Client.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.6 MR fix list (available at
http://www.lotus.com/ldd):

Calendaring & Scheduling
SPR# DCOY4PKNJS - Fixed a regression issue where the C&S freetime suggestion's
would not be useful if there was no time where everyone could make a meeting.
This was a regression introduced in 5.0.

In the Calendaring & Scheduling feature of Notes 6 Client and Domino 6 Server
(ND6) the Free Time user interface has been completely redesigned. The new
Scheduler control design gives you the option of viewing either detailed Free
Time information or a summarized view of suggested times; not both at the same
time. If someone is never available the message "No times available" appears.
Therefore, the R5 issue described in this technote does not apply to ND6.

Supporting Information:

The way that the suggestions in the Free Time dialog box work is by weighing
each and every unique point in time where...

- the Chairperson has a multiplier (more important)
- rooms have a multiplier (more important)
- required are more important than optional

For each person, room, and resource, their non-work hours, and appointments are
accumulated.

The suggestions then examine a 3 week window of busytime, looking for a window
of the specified duration. The suggestions loop, increasing the weight ignore
value until there is a time where the duration is available.
