Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Notes 5.0.5 and Notes 6.0.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.5 QMR Fix List:
Client
SPR# DLYY4MBNY6 - Provided a fix to prevent infinitely opening new windows
and/or crashing when IE 5.5 is installed. The problem only occurs when the
browser is set to"Notes with IE". Supporting Information:
This appears to be a problem only with new installs of Notes and Internet
Explorer 5.5.
Additional symptoms of this issue might be one of the following:
After installing Internet Explorer 5.5, you attempt to launch your mail file
and Notes immediately closes and requires a reboot to restart.
or
After installing Internet Explorer 5.5, when you select any link to a web page
in a document or enter a URL manually in the open URL window, Notes immediately
closes and requires a reboot to restart.
