Fix List for Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.3 QMR
January 24, 2003

Below is the completed and final fix list for Release 5.0.3. There are a total of 682 fixes. Upon further review and validation, Development has updated the 5.0.3 fix list to include the following indirectly fixed SPRs: YXUU4E4RJQ, MPEN4ETQKW, TGUZ4G4UG3, and ATHS4DQUVF. Indirectly fixed, refers to SPRs that have been addressed indirectly via other changes [fixes] to the 5.0.3 code.

Release 5.0.3 contained a substantial number of fixes and it required that each and every one be reviewed and summarized into a few technically accurate yet readable sentences. This challenge was greater than anticipated and resulted in an extended delay in finalizing this information for you. We apologize for that delay and thank you for your patience.

The fix list below has been updated to reflect regression bugs, which have been noted with a plus symbol "+" before the SPR number. A regression bug is a bug which was introduced in a QMR or QMU and did not exist in previous releases of that code stream. For example, a bug which appears in R5.0.3 but did not exist in R5.0.2 is a regression.

-----------------------------------------------

R5.0.3 Fixlist 9/30/2000

Agents

SPR# KSMH4F9U8K - Fix a problem with the security of Agents. As a result of this fix, webadmin.nsf will need to be signed with the server's ID and the server will need to be granted unrestricted LotusScript/Java agent access in the Security section of the Server document in the Domino Directory. In R5.0.2c, this task must be performed manually. In R5.0.3, the process is automatic. [5.0.2c,5.0.3]

API

SPR# BFEY4C7J5S - Fix a crash problem which occurred when using EventGetDestName. [5.0.3]

SPR# CBMO48FJGG - Add SECKFMSwitchToIDFile to the SDK. See the SDK documentation for arguments and usage. [5.0.3]

+SPR# CJIN4DVASN - Prevent the error, 03:CC, from occurring when compacting pre-R5 databases that have folders in them. This was a regression from 5.02. [5.0.3]

SPR# DSCR4DXKCE - Have OSTranslate append two null bytes (instead of one) when null-terminating Unicode strings. [5.0.3]

SPR# GCRN3U7NNF - A new function, DesignRefresh, is in the Notes C API. It refreshes a database design from a template. [5.0.3]

SPR# JASH45WTXD - OSLoadProgram has been corrected to have the correct calling convention for all platforms (OS/2 was previously incorrect). [5.0.3]

SPR# JMAO497QP8 - Fix a problem making it impossible to access database fields on a hooked R5.x server remotely. [5.0.3]

SPR# JSAI4D5QJA - The Notes C API function MailFindNextHopDomainExt is now properly exposed in the SDK. Previously, it was in an SDK header file but was omitted from the import library on platforms that use import libraries. [5.0.3]

SPR# MHAC4CFKWQ - Fix a problem where the count of all selected documents in a view with a response hierarchy is too large because, when a parent was deleted, the orphaned responses were still being counted. This problem was inadvertently introduced in R5.0, resulting from performance optimization. [5.0.2b,5.0.3]

SPR# MYUA4DAM6L, JBLY4CVM5V - Lotus now includes NSFDbFTSizeGet in the SDK. [5.0.3]

SPR# NBAR4BSJUE - Lotus now exposes the correct BUTTON_xxx flags in the SDK. [5.0.3]

SPR# PJAN4F5T93 - Fix a problem with NSFNoteComputeWithForm which caused a memory overwrite when a date was stored in a text field and the date was in the year 2000 or greater. One of the manifestations of the problem was a crash in Agent Manager when agents created mail messages using the R4.6x mail stationery, "Gray Gradient with Lines," if the form was stored in the document. There could be other manifestations depending on the memory configuration on any given system. This problem affects both clients and servers. [5.0.3,5.0.2c,5.0.1c]

SPR# SBON4CVKDN - In the Notes C API the ODS type macro, _COLOR_VALUE, has been exposed. Previously, the corresponding data structure, COLOR_VALUE, was exposed but the macro was not. [5.0.3]

SPR# SZAY49XPEE - The Notes C API OLE routines, NSFNoteExtractOLE2Object, NSFNoteDeleteOLE2Object, and NSFNoteAttachOLE2Object, are now in the SDK for all platforms. Note, however, that they simply return an error code on non-OLE platforms. [5.0.3]

SPR# WAN49ME5W - Some rare situations where the Notes C API functions MailGetMessageBodyText and ConvertItemToText could fail to justify lines correctly have been fixed. These functions take an argument, LineLength and CharsPerLine, respectively, that determine the maximum number of characters to place on a single line of text. Previously, very long "words" (sequences of undelimited characters) could be split onto two lines before the line length was exhausted. [5.0.3]

SPR# WMDD4BYTU6 - Fix a problem where new replicas of databases have documents appear in the wrong folders. In this particular case, old documents were appearing in the Inbox instead of in a folder to which they had been previously moved. [5.0.3]

Applet Component - Action Bar applet

SPR# DPAT4AVLL6 - Fix a problem when accessing an image well from within an action bar applet. Before this fix, the full image was displayed, instead of the single image within the image well. [5.0.3]

Applet Component - Outline applet

SPR# CMUY4CVRM9 - Fix problem that occurred when configuring SSL for HTTP. Before this fix, when changing the SSL port to something other than 443, the outline applet would state that it has loaded, but nothing would appear in the frameset. [5.0.3]

Lotus now provides a NOTES.INI variable, StrictDateTimeInput, which reverts to pre-R5 behavior and gives the user errors (instead of interpreting unambiguous dates which are merely formatted incorrectly).
