Notes/Domino 7.0.3 FP1 Release Notice
March 20, 2008

Notes/Domino 7.0.3 FP1 Release Notice

IBM Lotus announces Domino 7.0.3 Fix Pack 1. IBM strongly recommends upgrading to the latest Fix Pack, since Fix Packs address a small percentage of defects that impact the broadest set of customers. This is a scheduled Fix Pack of a limited number of low-risk/high-impact fixes to help customers safely avoid known problems. Fix Packs are released periodically between Maintenance Releases to provide a greater level of stability for customer environments. Fix Packs go through the same level of fix, regression and interoperability testing that occurs with our Maintenance Releases. Future 7.0.3 Fix Packs will be cumulative and contain all of the fixes from Domino 7.0.3 Fix Pack 1, and may be applied on any language version of Domino 7.0.3.

All fixes in this Fix Pack have already been successfully deployed at customer sites. Fix Pack fixes are included in the next shipping Maintenance Release, so 7.0.3 FP1 fixes will also ship in 7.0.4. Customers unable to upgrade to later Maintenance Releases will want to install Fix Packs to benefit from later fixes made to the product. By providing a small number of fixes, customers are able to accept fewer code changes with lower risk, allowing them to "patch" an older Maintenance Release until a more extensive upgrade to the current Maintenance Release is possible. Fix Packs may be downloaded from the web, but will not be distributed on CD.

While Fix Packs provide important fixes and IBM strongly recommends applying the latest Fix Pack available for a Maintenance Release, IBM still recommends that customers upgrade to the latest Maintenance Release + Fix Pack combination to receive the broadest set of fixes available. You will receive more overall fixes with a later Maintenance Release + Fix Pack than with a set of Fix Packs on top of an earlier maintenance Release.

The following is a list of the problems fixed in this 7.0.3 Fix Pack.

Notes:
1. There are 3 fixes below with a plus symbol (+) before the SPR number. This symbol indicates fixes for regression bugs. A regression bug is a bug that was introduced in a Maintenance Release that did not exist in previous releases of that code stream. For example, a bug that appears in R7.0.2 but did not exist in R7.0 is a regression.
2. Technote Numbers are displayed in parentheses following the fix description.

IBM Lotus Domino Web Access
  • SPR# HYWG5TPDPE and SPR# JBUD6DU33T- Fixed a problem when CDCs and EDCs don't automatically detect changes in configuration settings.
Serviceability
  • SPR# MKIN79LN2J - Fixed the display of module load addresses in NSD logs. (TN# 1233676) **
  • SPR# RGET6Y8N84 - Prior to this fix, Notes DPOOL descriptions were missing in process memory mappings. (TN# 1233676)
  • SPR# SCOS6QSLCP - NSD version information is now available on Unix. (TN# 1233676)
  • SPR# SCOS752SFE - NSD now uses standard version numbers. (TN# 1233676)
  • SPR# SCRE6PMNKT - Server task session length information now included in NSD. (TN# 1233676)
  • SPR# TACN766LGN - With this fix, NSD can be generated on i5/OS from RUNDOMCMD. (TN# 1290873)
  • SPR# ZSAE76TNJ7 - Fixed random NSD crashes while dumping open database and memory traces sections. (TN# 1233676) **

Server
  • +SPR# AJAN79TP3E - Fixed the MIME serialize code to handle 'no data'. This regression was introduced in 7.0.3 and 8.0. (TN# 1292974)
  • SPR# BFOS762NFS - Fixed a race condition on i5. External symptoms would be varied.
  • SPR# BGLN789NWZ - Fixed a problem with incorrect time zone choices in custom databases accessed over the Web. The problem was that if a database containing a timezone field was accessed through a browser, a different set of time zone choices would be displayed than if the database was accessed through a Notes client . (TN# 1298010)
  • SPR# DPOS4KEK4E - Fixed a problem with container leaks in IMAP. A subsequent additional case has been fixed in 7.0.4. (TN# 1214977)
  • SPR# JCHN65AH3B - Fixed a crash related to views where a storage container was incorrectly left open. Diagnostic code was added to help troubleshoot any additional cases. (TN# 1260568)
  • SPR# JCHN72JK3T - Fixed a crash while allocating shared memory handles. (TN# 1260567)
  • SPR# JJUS6HAKFU - Added a new SeqTime algorithm, and OptionsDigest. Also, code will override deletion stubs after multiple aggregations and maintain digest better. (TN# 1221157)
  • +SPR# JLAE766KP8 - Prior to this fix, Sametime was using excessive CPU when entering the "Meetings In Progress" page. This regression was introduced in 7.0.2 FP2 and has been fixed in 7.0.4. This problem was found internally at IBM and has not been reported by any customers. (TN# 1297640)
  • SPR# JROU785PY8 - This is a performance improvement for memcheck on AIX. (TN# 1233676)
  • SPR# KHAN79MU5N - With this fix, an error is no longer returned when an invalid folder modification or operation time is detected. Instead, the current time is displayed. An error is also not returned when replicating folder operations. (TN# 1290840)
  • SPR# KLIN6CPJYA - DirCat command line switch enhancements and removed obsolete DirCat command line switches from DirCat help.
  • SPR# KSIH6VQS74 - With this fix, a PANIC does not happen on thread termination due to outstanding locks. Abort any in-flight transaction & release any remaining locks. (TN# 1257399)
  • SPR# MERS72LKC8 - Removed obsolete DirCat command line switches from DirCat help.
  • SPR# MIAS744QL2 - The server may crash in ServerGetNotes running with constrained memory. This fix corrects a problem where a null netbuffer was used. The fix returns an error instead of crashing. (TN# 1271178)
  • SPR# MKIN79ERSB - Updated the timezones used by the insrv/inotes directory. This change will read from the OS on W32 Domino Servers so an OS update alone will automatically correct the HTTP $Preferences and timezone fields when viewed from a web browser.
