Notes/Domino 7.0.1 Maintenance Release (MR) - Top 20 List
November 27, 2007

Notes/Domino 7.0.1 is our first Maintenance Release on top of release 7.0. Notes/Domino Release 7.0.1 of IBM Lotus Domino is designed, tested, and supported across the 7.0 extended product family. The extended product family includes:
Lotus Instant Messaging (Sametime®)
Lotus Web Conferencing (Sametime)
Lotus Team Workplace (QuickPlace™)
Lotus Domino Document Manager (Domino.Doc®)
Lotus Workflow™
Lotus Workplace Web Content Management

We have fixed approximately 1080 bugs in Notes/Domino 7.0.1. The following is a list of the Top 20 problems fixed in this MR. This list was compiled to identify the problems that most significantly impact our customers. We measure the SPRs by Severity level, number of hotfixes given out, number of customers reporting the problem, and business impact to customers. This criteria helps us identify the most important issues impacting our customers.

Notes:
1. There are 4 fixes below with a plus symbol (+) before the SPR number. This symbol indicates fixes for regression bugs. A regression bug is a bug that was introduced in a Maintenance Release that did not exist in previous releases of that code stream - for example, a bug that appears in R7.0.1 but did not exist in R7.0 is a regression.
2. Technote Numbers are displayed in parenthesis following the fix description.

Client
  • SPR# PMOL5B8TX7 - Fixed a truncation problem when attempting to print or preview a calendar entry. Some of the information on the right side of the document may be truncated. Please note: this problem is fixed only when printing in an opened document in READ mode. It does not fix the problem when the document is in Edit mode or when printing from a view. A workaround to this problem might be to print in Landscape orientation instead of Portrait, or to modify the table margin settings. See the Technote for more details. (TN# 1153988)
  • +SPR# YHAI6CKAUN - When using @Wide/@Narrow in Input Translation via Web, half-pitch characters become garbage characters. This problem has been fixed in 7.0.1 and 6.5.6, and was a regression introduced in 7.0. This SPR was fixed in the Client and Server code.
  • SPR# LMTG6EA8A4 - The first OS password change on a multi-user install with Single Logon was causing the user's notes.ini to be overwritten with a stub copy. This forced the user to rerun setup and lose preferences. This fix will eliminate overwriting the notes.ini. (TN# 1214848)
  • SPR# BHAS5TW5EP - New Mail Notification popup brings Notes Client from background to foreground. This problem has been fixed and also includes the ability to display the window in a nonactivated state by using the Notes.ini variable "AlarmsTakeFocus=1", to reverse the behavior. (TN# 1113895)
  • +SPR# JCOL6F5QAQ - When enabling the "Show in-line MIME images as attachments" preference, images are still displayed in-line. With this fix, we respect "show in-line images as attachments" and go back to that behavior. This regression was introduced in 6.5.4. (TN# 1220285)
  • +SPR# MHAC5YGPKB - View-Show-Page Breaks now shows where the page will break. This regression was introduced in 6.5.1. (TN# 1202747)

Server
  • SPR# LDEY6EJNYC - Fixed a problem where fixup does not complete because the child IDtable became full. (TN# 1218489)
  • SPR# CTOI68RDMH - Fixed an occasional crash in DIIOP under heavy loads when there is an off by one condition during recycling events. This means that the actual number of objects that need to be recycled does not match the count we maintain. (TN# 1196707)
  • SPR# JIMS654NHX - Fixed a problem with new databases created by agents. If the database had never been opened before, then the first time the update task tried to refresh a view index in the new database, it would generate an error: "err_invalid_btree ERROR: Invalid btree context signature". (TN# 1213069)
  • SPR# JPAS6E2H3N - Fixed a crash when running Compact -a against a database with only a partial profile document. All databases are meant to have a profile doc. The document existed but was truncated. (TN# 1214200)
  • SPR# CTOI68RDMH - Fixed an occasional crash in DIIOP under heavy loads when there is an off by one condition during recycling events. This means that the actual number of objects that need to be recycled does not match the count we maintain. (TN# 1196707)
  • SPR# LOMI6AALJV - Fixed an intermittent Domino Server crash that occurred when an iNotes for Web Access user attempted to enable the Out of Office agent. The server reports an Insufficient Memory error message when it crashes. This issue can also be seen in cases where a server is in a low memory condition. The top four lines of the stack will show a PANIC in MemoryInit1. The root of the fix is the reuse of the MM structure. (TN# 1214762)
  • SPR# TJOR6HRNAW - Fixed a problem where two threads can get the same database handle back from NSFDbOpen. There was a race condition where thread A would reserve a handle in the DBU cache but before the handle could be removed from the DBU cache, Thread B could also come in and get the same handle. This will cause the http server to crash in several different ways. One instance of a crash would be on dbopen, and two different instances would be on dbclose. (TN# 1223282)
  • SPR# JPAS6E2H3N - Fixed a crash when running Compact -a against a database with only a partial profile document. All databases are meant to have a profile doc. The document existed but was truncated. (TN# 1214200)
  • SPR# JCHS6CBJZY - Numerous temporary files named IDxxxxx.DTF, used to store profile document control data, were not cleaned up by Domino at startup and/or shutdown. This caused a panic error "insufficient semaphores handle number of concurrent own critical regions". The problem was generated by a corrupted Notes database that had file access Read-Only at the OS level. (TN# 1209369)
  • SPR# LVAE6GLLN9 - This fix corrects a problem where a released buffer was used to copy the information for the object. (TN# 1218917)
  • SPR# RGET6BUURE - Fixed a crash caused by a problem in auto-recovery. (TN# 1208212)
  • SPR# LDEY6EJNYC - Fixed a problem where fixup does not complete because the child IDtable became full. (TN# 1218489)
