SPR # ASHH48UM5T fixed in 5.0.5 releaseRecommended Release (14.5.1)

Product Area: Server Technical Area: Server - Full Text Indexing Platform: Cross Platform

SPR# ASHH48UM5T - Created a new Notes.INI setting in 5.0.4, FT_INDEX_IGNORE_ATTACHMENT_TYPES to allow the full text indexer to ignore the specified attachment types. For example "FT_INDEX_IGNORE_ATTACHMENT_TYPES=.exe,.DLL" will tell the indexer not to index attachments with the .exe and .dll extension. This will reduce the size of the index and speed search results.

5.0.5 Update: An enhancement to this fix was added for 5.05 that eliminates the need for this Notes.ini parameter, and instead uses a pre-built list of file extensions to exclude when full text indexing with file attachments included. The pre-built list of extensions that will be ignored is as follows: .nsf, .ntf, .sys, .pag, .img, .wav, .gif, .jpg, .dll, .tar, .exe, .zip, .au, .mpg, .mov, mp3.
