SPR# DBLK5VPSYR - This SPR is an i5/OS specific issue. The problem will result in a crash from a MCH0601 exception. In the i5/OS SLS storage model, Memory segments are limited to a maximum of 16 Meg in size. If a pointer is addressing near the end of the segment and a size is added which will exceed the maximum segment size, the pointer will be NULL which may end up causing a machine error. The original mathematical expression used in the code allowed the possibility of running into the scenario described above. The solution was to rearrange the mathematical expression to an equivalent form that prevents this scenario from occurring.
