SPR # WWHG5P9GWE fixed in 6.0.4 releaseRecommended Release (14.0 FP1)

Product Area: Server Technical Area: IMAP Platform: Unix; zLinux; zSeries

SPR# WWHG5P9GWE - This fix corrects two problems in zOS. First in zOS the local per thread storage is increased to allow for the way zOS dispatches threads. The thread with the lowest thread ID is always dispatched first. This causes the first few threads to do most of the work and also to allocate most of the per thread storage. Second for zOS (and zLinux) the local thread bpool elements are 256K. The max size of the local dpools is 512K. With the overhead you can't put two local thread elements into one dpool. Making the dpool 4K larger will greatly reduce the amount of fragmentation that occurs when a large amount of local thread storage is needed. These two changes resolve the storage shortage and allow IMAP to scale up over 8000 users.
