SPR # VTAI6SBEDC fixed in 8.5.1 releaseRecommended Release (14.0 FP1)

Product Area: Server Technical Area: Mail Server Platform: Cross Platform

SPR# VTAI6SBEDC - Created a notes.ini variable for the Router to eliminate duplicate messages to recipients when the recipient is both on the To or Cc: and in a group on the To or Cc, for messages coming from the internet. Syntax: RouterDupElimLookedUpFullName=number
Description: Setting to eliminate duplicate messages to recipients when the recipient is both on the To or Cc: and in a group on the To or Cc, for messages coming from the internet. Enabling this setting will cause the FullName of recipients that are successfully looked up by the Router to be eliminated from any Router group expansion results on that same message.

Use the following values to set this variable:
0 - Do not eliminate the recipient's FullName from Router group expansion results
1 - Eliminate the recipient's distinguished FullName from Router group expansion results
2 - Perform another recipient lookup by FullName for verification before eliminating recipient's distinguished FullName from Router group expansion results

If a customer is confident of their uniqueness of their distinguished fullnames throughout their directory configuration, they could use setting =1. This will perform better than the setting =2. Setting of 2 will perform an additional lookup for every recipient that is looked up that wasn't looked up by the recipient's distinguished name. This introduces performance overhead, but will verify that the person document found via the original lookup string (an internet address) is the same as the person doc found via a lookup by the FullName returned by that original lookup.
