Explanation:

If you use Domino Web Access (renamed iNotes in 8.5) 7.0.x or 8.0.x and you have enabled Lotus Sametime integration for your Lotus iNotes, you must also add iNotes_WA_DisableFirefoxAwareness=0 to the iNotes application server, to enable Sametime integration for Firefox browser on Microsoft Windows. If you do not, iNotes users will not see the Instant Messaging button in the iNotes user interface, and the option to enable Instant Messaging does not display in the iNotes user preferences. In iNotes 8.5.x, Sametime integration is enabled for all browsers so you don't need to add this setting.

For additional information on configuring Sametime Awareness for Firefox users, see the steps topic on setting up Lotus iNotes with Sametime in the Lotus Domino Administrator 8.0 information center.

Applies to:

Lotus iNotes clients in Mozilla Firefox on Microsoft Windows only

Default Value:

8.5.x - the default setting is 0 (Instant Messaging is enabled for Firefox by default).

7.0.x and 8.0.x - the default value is 1 (Instant Messaging is disabled for Firefox on Microsoft Windows)

UI equivalent:

None

Syntax:

iNotes_WA_DisableFirefoxAwareness=0 / 1

Available since:

Lotus Notes/Domino 7.0

Obsolete since:

Setting not required for Lotus Notes/Domino 8.5.x
