You can set tabs by specifying them in the text properties or using the ruler. The tab marks you set in text properties display on the ruler, and any tab stops you set on the rule appear in numeric form in text properties.
Set evenly-spaced tabs
- Put the document in Edit mode.
- Select the paragraph(s).
- Click Text > Text Properties
Note: To set tabs for a paragraph that contains a hotspot, button, attachment, or object, select the item, and click Item Item Properties. Notes sets tabs for the paragraph that contains the item.)
- Click the Paragraph Margins tab.
- In the Tab stops field, select Evenly spaced, and enter the interval in inches for tab stops.
Set unevenly-spaced tabs
- Put the document in Edit mode.
- Select the paragraph(s).
- Click Text > Text Properties
Note: To set tabs for a paragraph that contains a hotspot, button, attachment, or object, select the item, and click Item Item Properties. Notes sets tabs for the paragraph that contains the item.)
- Click the Paragraph Margins tab.
- In the Tab stops field, select Individually set, and then enter the specific number of tab stops.
- To specify a left, centered, right, or decimal tab stop, put L, C, R, or D before the tab stop, respectively.
- Enter numbers in inches or centimeters (for example, C1" or R2.5cm). If you enter more than one tab stop, separate them with semicolons (for example, 1.5";2.5";3").
