Explanation:

If non-zero the client will silently fail over to a different server if the current server is no longer operational (no prompts). Default is 0 (prompt). Best practices suggest this should be set to 1 for all server based mail users in the LLN2 environment.

"The server with this database is no longer responding. Should Notes switch to a replica on another server?"

This notes.ini parameter is new in Release 8.

  • 0 (default) - The user is prompted when a server is not responding.
  • 1 - Prompts to the user are suppressed when a server is not responding. (This does not prevent Notes from failing over.)

Replaces the old notes.ini parameter HidePromptFailoverInc

Applies to:

Clients 8.5.2+

Default Value:

0

UI Equivalent:

None, but this is enabled by using "Enable silent failover when a server goes down" Desktop Policy setting (Desktop Settings -> Mail- > Client Settings)

Syntax:

FailoverSilent = value
