IE Version Compatibility

Hi All,

We are currently planning our migration strategy to XPages and implementation will be starting soon. We are planning to use Domino 8.5.3 with the 8.5.3 Extension Library.

I was just wondering if there will be any compatibility issues in the IE versions being used since we have a mixture of IE 6, 7, and 8 in our organization. And since the "XPages backend" is now using java, will there be any required JRE/JVM versions to be installed on the browser? (sorry, new to java centric world so I'm not sure if my question makes sense).

Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Erik Ong

Re: IE Version Compatibility
Erik,

To be able to use XPages in a browser, the installation of a JVM/ JRE is not required. XPages use default browser functionality and doesn't require any plugins by default. The Dojo JavaScript framework is used in that context to solve issues in the use of different browsers and browser versions.

Domino 8.5.3 uses version 1.6 of Dojo. I just checked the release notes of Dojo and IE 6 is still supported, so you shouldn't have any large issues there.
