translation / localization

I have an application that I would like to make available to a bigger audience. In order to do so I would like to offer the application in multiple languages.

I was wondering if you have a suggested approach?

Is it the approach described in the xpages aplication wiki https://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/XPageLocaleTimezone.htm

I also read that the xpages toolkit has translation capabilities but that makes me dependent on another library which I would like to avoid.

Any ideas?

Custom way

I don't like the build in localisation. It is good when the application is totally finished, but when is that the case ;-)

When you add new functionality the standard way is a real nightmare.

I do it always my own way as post on my blog, see http://elstarit.nl/2016/03/08/xpages-tip-add-a-new-language-to-your-app/ or http://elstarit.nl/2016/03/05/xpages-tip-multi-language-support-for-labels/ or http://elstarit.nl/2014/10/01/control-labels-xpage-app/

How to get the values on the XPage

Hello Frank,

Thank you for your answer. How do you get the property values on e.g. a label control?
