Xpages AXIS and 9.0.1

Tony McGuckin et al. has a slide deck on slideshare http://www.slideshare.net/IBMSBT/sbt-webinar131106. On on page they talk about
"Commons Logging Upgrade to V1.1.2 ● Unblocks long-standing issues re XPages apps using other jars shipped with Domino (e.g. Axis) ● Makes it easier to consume web services ● xsp.depend.org.apache.axis=true"

What does this mean? How do I use xsp.depend.org.apache.axis=true?

It's not quite ready yet

You can add that setting to an XPage's xsp.properties file and it will give you access to the Apache Axis jar files, but there is still an error when trying to invoke a web service client from SSJS.  They are working on it.

Can you give some more information?

Thanks for the answer. Can you give some more information? Code examples? Documentation?
We use the built in web service consumer a lot, invoking it from an agent. Does this mean we can skip the agent and invoke it in some other way?

This is only related to XPages

This is only related to XPages calling a web service from SSJS.  For now you will need to stick with the running an agent method.

No documentation that I know of, but if they get it working I will do a Notes in Nine or a blog post on XPages tips.

Enhancement Request

IBM support says this. Don't know when 9.0.2 is coming.

"The SPR # CJON9564CT: "Feature To Call A Web Service From A XPage",  has
been already created as an Enhancement Request, requesting a simple
interface or SSJS method added to XPages for web service calls.

This request has been under development review in Notes 9.0.2 version."
