Application Layout: hiding Search

Hi

I would only like to show the Search controls when the database is full text indexed. To do this I selected the "computed property menu button" in the properties box (for the Application Layout custom control - Search section unter Title bar) and entered the following code: database.isFTIndexed(). Everything seems to be OK (I do not get any errors) but if I select another tab on the Application Layout custom control and then go back to the Search tab the computed property has been lost.

I am assuming that this is an error with the Custom Control? I am using Notes 8.5.3 FP2 with the Upgrade Pack installed. I was wondering if I just need to upgrade to the newest version of the extention library from OpenNTF?

Thanking you in advance

Re: Application Layout: hiding Search
Are you using Compute Dynamically or Compute on Page Load? The latter will be more efficient and should give the right value. The only downside is the user will need to refresh the page if the database gets full-text indexed while they're using it - not a huge issue.

Re: Application Layout: hiding Search
Hi Paul

I am not sure that I worded my question properly- the problem is with the Domino Designer front end - I can set the flag in designer but if I change flags the flag is no longer set. I have tried saving with the tab open but am still missing what I set when I reopen the properties box!

Any other ideas?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

 Are you on 8.5.3?

I've seen earlier versions of designer do weird things like forget settings...  locking things out...  even 8.5.3 has some weird moments where if I make a change to a property via checkbox or whatever it won't save.  It forces me to go to the source pane.

Suggest you try your updates in source pane.
