Window- and Tab Management in XPinc / RunOnServer XPages

Hi there,

My XPage Application, which will be used mainly on the Notes Client (RunOnServer) is about to be tested.. There is one Request which gives me headache: Windows Handling.. e.g.: there is also a SideBar widget involved (lets say a list of Links with "ToDo Items".. So when i click on one of these Links, i open a document with an XPage, target frame is "_blank".. When the user clicks the same link multiple times, the very same document is opened also multiple time in different Tabs.. this could result in conflicts, lost data, etc.

How can i open XPages just in the same manner as documents in the notes client.. the notes client recognizes if a documents is already open in another tab and just focusses on this opened tab.. this would be the desired behaviour..

Any idea for this?

I've never run XPiNC on Server.  I don't really get the point of that.  I've only ever played with it for local / disconnected apps that replicate..  but...

Isn't there something in application properties about this?  For Notes Client...  to open in the same tab or multiple tabs?  I thought there was.

Thanks for your answer.. Since it's a completely new application (not a replacement or refactoring of an existing application), i decided to do it in XPages.. the customer works mainly in the notes client, sometimes over the web client, and with planning to take use of Social Experienca (typical workflow application).. If they have the Notes Client available, the don't want to leave it (understandable)..

If the window handling would become a serious problem, i might have to look at the Java UI API..
