- First, one must know to go to OpenNTF. Not everyone uses that site, I suspect, and this post still isn't pinned, so it's not quite feedback friendly.
- Second, not everyone uses OpenNTF, and one must have a login in order to post anything on the project. Even less feedback friendly.
- Third, an OpenNTF account is "free" but hat's not the point. The point is dictating people also create an OpenNTF account just to tell about a bug is simply not appropriate.
- Fourth, forcing people to load a completely different web site, login, and find where to post a bug means a lot less people are likely to go through that process just to point out a defect, even if they have an OpenNTF account already.
- So while this may be the established procedure for feedback, it's not conducive to actually garnering that feedback, and less feedback could easily translate into an inferior product. I'm sure that's not the intention, but it could easily be the result. Then again maybe it's intended to weed out the casual response in the hope that truly serious feedback is acquired?
