Hi,

We are facing a strange issue with the special character (¥) in Java editor.
That special character is used so that the user cannot enter it manually.
That character is used in all our java classes. Suddenly this character shows as Diamond with question mark() when I open the Java class.
If I copy the character (¥)and paste manually in the Java class, it looks good. So the java Editor is rendering the character correctly.

At first, I thought it is server that is changing these characters, but the same file if I open in another machines. It looks good.

Did anyone face this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Praveen

Re: Special Character(¥) shows as Diamond with question mark
The problem is fixed..

Fix :

There is a setting in the Domino Designer preferences for encoding.

File->Preferences->Then type Workspace in the search box.

Select the Workspace link  in the left navigation. There is a section called "Text File Encoding". That setting has to be "Windows-1252"for the special characters to show correctly.

So Set this setting and Build your project as I had problem in the Java class.

All should be good after this
