This may have been answered by someone else, but can't seem to find, so here it goes. I'm using standard validation (not client side) on an XPage.  I'd like to validate a field only when a button is clicked.  So, in my case when in an approval workflow, when clicking on a reject button the comments are mandatory, but not for approve.  Got around this ok by selecting Process data without validation on the approve button. I have enabled validation on the comments field, so this method works fine, but I have a tabbed table on my page, and when clicking on a new tab it triggers the validation, which isn't ideal.  Any suggestions appreciated.
