Hi All

I have a form with Customer, Services, Status and ... fields that saves information a bout customers. There is a view in this pages that display projects that relate to the selected customer I want to  add a button called "Add existing project".This button should allow users to select a project that is created previously to selected customer. They should only be able to see the projects which are for the same customer and service as that of customer and add them to the customer so, I created a view that first column is categorized and Customer+Service in its value. How can I filter view to display project with same customer a service that user is selected.

Best Regards

hmmm

I can't just rip off the answer at the moment...  I'm sure I covered this several times in some of my early shows on NotesIn9.

See this link:  http://www.mindmeister.com/280533435/notesin9

I'd be shocked if it wasn't in Introduction to XPages OR Beyond the Introduction.  It's probably in "Xpages Data Relationships".

Sorry I don't remember where - But I covered it very early I'm sure.

that is a property in the view data source, I think filterview...
Its about bedtime and I am too lazy to fire up Designer but there is a property in the view data source called filter view or something like that. See the documentation.

I use something like this to create categorized Repeat Controls

It is beyond the scope here, but as Howard says there is a filter by column and filter by Category properties in a Domino View DataSource. I have built 3 custom controls for a 1 category, 2 category and 3 category repeat control and I can set one of those in place in minutes now. The beauty of XPages is that this sort of control on the user interface is beyond anything possible in Native Notes.

When I started doing this sort of thing I can't believe how difficult I made it for myself. Then the light broke through and noticed the filter by properties and a few other things. I now use almost nothing but repeat controls for user 'view', dropping the results of a FTSearch into a repeat is so simple. Now you can get a 'view' that is very specifically targeted to the current user.

I would be pleased to share more info with you if you would like drop me a line at bill_fox@WFSystems.ca
