This should be obvious but for some reason, I am scratching my head. I am putting a custom search feature (edit box plus button with specific code behind for the search) on the main editable area of the Application Layout control. I added an edit box and button above the Data Table all on the same panel. When I view the page the edit box isn't there as if it is not in edit mode. How do I make the search edit box editable?

 

I tried adding another panel with the edit box inside and adding a Simple Action to put it in edit mode but that didn't work.
