8.5.3 ckeditor rich text insert image not working with repeat control

I am trying to use the native rich text control that comes with 8.5.3 and I'm running into some issues. If I use a single instance of the rich text control (that is within a repeat control) then the Insert Image functionality works just fine. But if the iterations of the repeat control are greater than 1 than at first it appears to be fine, but unfortunately the insert image functionality doesn't work. When I click on the insert image it produces the page mask that you typically see with a modal dialog box but I get no dialog. This is with both IE8 and Chrome (didn't test with FF).
 
I thought at first there might have been something wrong with my code, but then I tested this same functionality with the Teamroom 8.5.3 code - straight out of the box and the same thing happens. If you go and create a new "Individual Status Report" from the teamroom you will see there are 3 rich text controls there. I was not able to insert an image with these controls.
 
Is this a known issue?  And if so, is there some sort of a workaround? We really need to be able to insert images.

 Yes it is a known issue
 
You cannot add images if there  is more than 1 CKeditor on an XPage.
 
I have been trying to get a response from IBM for several weeks now

When you include more than one Rich Text editor on an XPage in 853 and select the image button a javascript error is generated and no pop up appears.

This is new with 853 and is breaking apps.


Is there a work around ?

Thanks for the quick response. Do you a reference number for the bug report with IBM?  We have projects we need to get out the door and would like to get a timeframe on resolution of this.

Afraid not, as an ISV we seem to have limited abilities to raise PMRs.
 
I have been trying through the Virtual Innovation Centre and the DP Program.

 Apparently it matches SPR PHAN8R2GRE which is due to be fixed in 854 - Q4 2012
 
There will be a lot of broken apps by then :-{

Thank you for providing us the twotrxbroken.nsf database. After looking into the application you have shared to us together with our IBM lotus developer team, based on their feedback, this issue is a known issue and it is only happening for Lotus 8.5.3 and currently there is no fix for this issue yet. However, this issue has already been reported to L3 via SPR SODY8RBKY6 / APAR LO67196 for future enhancement.

IBM has put together a hotfix for this issue and it is now working!
