Persistance Frameworks

Has anyone used a persistance framework with Xpages yet?  something like hibernate?  Wondering if it would help speed up sql backed xpages?

I have not used Hibernate with xPages, or anything with jdbc, but it should be possible. If you cannot get Hibernate to work, then maybe a connection pooling library can help. There are several available.
