Buttons, Tabs, Simple Actions Issues

 I am having an issue with buttons, tabs, etc when they are using simple actions. I have tried several sample working applications, and for some reason the buttons won't click in the notes client or in the web browser. This is also a problem with the tabs. When you click on them they add a pound symbol # to the URL, and since that is an in page anchor it goes no where. At first I thought I must have been doing something wrong as I was working through several sample applications, however now I am seeing this in every button that uses a simple action, such as open a page and it is pointing to another existing XPage. Another thing I noticed is my core controls do not render properly when I run the XPage in the browser or the notes client. They look fine in Designer, but as soon as I try to run them I have problems with them displaying. For example a Rich Edit control looks fine in designer, but it is just a box when run, it is missing all the formatting options, the gray header etc. I am starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my installation. Anyone else had these type of problems? If so were you able to resolve them?

 use firebug and make sure you are actually getting the dojo files, the console on firebug should let you know.  I have seen many servers, mostly linux that have some OS file permissions on some of the resource folders not allowing access to the js libraries.

 also make sure you have dojo parseonload set to true as well as the dojotheme
