XPage client preview not working

Working on an XPage enabled Notes application on a new Domino 8.5.3 server.

  Not able to preview the XPage in the Notes Client.

I setup a database for testing that has a single XPage in it.

The XPage just contains a panel with a label that says "TEST" in orange letter. 
 
Have database launch properties set to display the test XPage.

Can preview it in web browser with no problem, but not the Notes client.

Client gives a loading.... message then times out.
 
Any suggestions on things to check to get the Client on board...

 are there any messages in the notes log (log.nsf) or the log files in the IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder in the notes data directory?
 
Have you tested it on more than one machine? 
 
Need to try and determine if this is a client or server issue.

Not seeing relvant messages in the log.nsf on the server or my client.

My client version is:

Release 8.5.3
Revision 20110916.0921 (Release 8.5.3)
Standard Configuration
L-GHUS-8BPRCQ

Know the Notes server is 8.5.3, but not sure exactly which release.

Have had other users and administrators try and they get the same result.

Administrators did have HTTP turned off and were only allowing HTTPS.  Had them enable http and it still did not work.

Did check the C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT folder on my PC and not seeing anything that corresponds to when I
attempt to preview an XPage.  Attempted to preview XPage on client at 4:15pm today, and don't see anything in the files for today that corresponds
to that time.

So not sure if this is a client issue, or a server issue....

 I'm not sure if this will help but it may be worth a try.
 
We ran into an issue in the past where the client just kept loading... however it wasn't XPage related. 
 
To resolve the issue, we made a backup of the Workspace folder (Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data\Workspace), deleted it, then restarted the client to rebuild the folder.
 
This resolved the loading issue.
