Two Data Sources - Prevent creation of response document in XPiNC

Hello,

I have a two data sources, one for the main document and one for response documents. The response document is an update field for the main document as in this article.

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/Create_and_display_responses

I am using XPiNC and as I cannot recreate standard Notes type Save & Close button to close the form our users are closing the Notes Client Tab, which, because I have 'enableModifiedFlag' set to check when any part of the form has been modified, it prompts the user to save. This is fine (or workable work around to the lack of Save and Close), however, the document is submitted hence creating and submitting the second data source as a blank response document when a response has not been created.

Any suggestion on overcoming this would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

Ok , sorry if I do not understand the whole scenario here.

when you have mutliple data sources on an xpages and you only want to save one of them you need to set the scope of data sources to "request" and do not use a submit button

Hope it helps

Thanks Thomas,

Yes I understand that, however, closing using the tab on the Notes Client with enabledmodifiedflag brings up the save dialog, which then (from what I can gather) forces a submit, I can't find a way of preventing this.
