This database is not in your data directory and cant be previewed.

Before it said something like "add acl to the anonymous with atleast author access".

Please help.

Re: Problem in previewing
Right-click the database in your workspace > Application > Access Control > Add.. > Type 'Anonymous' > OK. After Anonymous is in the list, select it, make its type: Person, Access: Author.

Move your database into your installation folder. Usually its C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data.

It's hard to tell from just Error 101 alone. Can you open your database in designer > Application Configuration > Xsp Properties > Under 'Error handling', check the 'Display XPage runtime error page' > Try previewing again.

If error appear, check where the error stops.

 Now it shows,

HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden

The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.

How to change the configuration and of which server? Detail it pls...

Re: Problem in previewing
I'm not an admin but a quick search shows no result between the error and Domino/Notes. But according to this, it could be related to your IIS. I never use IIS so maybe you should ask your admin to configure for you to allow previewing XPages.

Re: Problem in previewing
You probably have another web server running on port 80.  In designer preferences for Domino Designer you can change the preview port to something like 8080 and then do local preview for XPages

Re: Problem in previewing
 Hi paul,

IIS was running paul. I stopped it and tried, Changed the port in preferences too. Nothing was successful.
But one thing i noted is that, even after the iis server is stopped, when i type 'localhost' in the browser, iis homepage opens. What to do?

Also, i doubt the notes client installed along with this. Could it be somewhat related to this problem?  'coz  i've not configured it with any server.

Please help.

Re: Problem in previewing
When you changed the port preference to 8080 did you then try http://localhost:8080/app.nsf  ? after starting the web preview ?

Can you preview xpages in XPiNC (XPages in the Notes Client)

Your problems have NOTHING to do with Notes and everything to do with your local configuration.  You might have "stopped" some of the IIS services but it's still obviously running something in the background and keeping port 80 used.

You can also try 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost as well as editing your local host file to see how localhost is resolving.

Re: Problem in previewing

First of all i thank Baxter and paul.

Paul,

I re-installed designer and notes client and as a miracle, it works now. I didn't do anything new. But now i can preview.

But i need to know what is behind this thing for the next time if the same problem arises, i don't know what to do.

What are all needed to be learnt for this?

The next step is to develop applications. Need help for that too..!!

If ok for you, we could share our contacts so that we can make our communication faster. My mail is: vijayaragavank@kkmsoft.com.
