Display options instead of alt tag in links

Would like to see the contents of a xpage when you drag your cursor over a document link. Today I use the alt tag. Is there a way to present information in a reading window through the Dojo where you see all the text and could also open the document if there are attachments

Have a look into using Tooltips for displaying data when you hover over a link.  A good method of setting these up can be found here: 
 
 
Alternatively, you could look into using a Dojo Dialog control.
