as I understand, you have included a view control to display data from another database. Links look quite good, but when trying to open the liked document you get runtime errors "Item not found".

Solution being:
1 to regard configurationsoutlined in http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/xpages-viewpanel-form-mapping.htm

2. have the XPage being used to display the data not in the target database, rather than in the database which has the viewpanel
