Is there any equivalent to "Open Link in new Tab/Window" when you open XPage in Lotus Notes client?

We are trying to develop new applications as XPage applications. I'd like to preserve Lotus Notes client as only one tool for working with all our applications (including XPage applications) during initial phase. But users work typically with several documents at once..
Can you suggest me how to open document in Lotus Notes client from a view in new tab/window? (choice between to refresh current window and to open new tab/window like in browsers would be perfect)
