Hi,

we have a strange issue on one of our servers where we are running xpage applications. One of our administrators wanted to search in the files on this server using the admin client. As you all know the admin client reads all the directories and files in them for display in the  admin client. There is one directory on this specific server called 'xspstate'. It takes ages for the admin client to build the index for this directory. When we look into the directory we lots of small files.

Would it be safe do delete this directory and let the xsp  process recreate it if needed?

Re: XSPState directory
Hi,

if you are not using XPages applications on the server, you can remove the directory without any problems.
But if not, I think this is not a good idea, because this is the directory where the XPages are persisted.

Maybe you can change the path to another directory. Just change the property xsp.persistence.dir.xspstate in the xsp.properties-file of the server.
You can change the upload path xsp.persistence.dir.xspupload and attachement storage xsp.persistence.dir.xsppers.

Hope this helps
Sven

Here's a better idea
In the Admin Client, go to File, Preferences, Administration Preferences. Select the "Files" tab and check the box "Retrieve only Domino file types". This way, populating the tree in the files panel will me much faster, too.
