What does the SystemOut.log say just prior? What's the frequency, is there a pattern? Why would you need to restart Domino as the two servers are independent? Hmmm, do you find that you cannot look up users in your Sametime client and cannot add group etc? Do business cards return user's email addresses? If not, then the problem is LDAP related. I have seen it a few times before that the Community server stops being able to query LDAP because there are too many queries to be sent to LDAP so queries time out. If the business card doesn't work then audio and video does not.

Sametime client is unable to use audio or video

 Problem |
"Unable to initialize Computer, and it can't be used at this time. Required directory or configuration information is missing. Voice and video services will not be available. Please contact your administrator."
 Symptom |
A/V is not available in the client. |
 Cause |
The problem is caused by the email address not being available from the business cards. This problem could be a result of a misconfiguration in the userinfoservlet or a problem with the attributes used to display the email address.
The following are examples of what might cause the problem with A/V to occur. Example 1: If LDAP is setup for SSL but the userinfoservlet has not been configured to connect via SSL, this will prevent the email address from being returned because it cannot access LDAP correctly. Example 2: An attribute for email has been specified that does not match any attribute that exists in the LDAP server. Example 3: An attribute for email has been specified that does not exist for each LDAP person document. In this case some users will have A/V and others will not. |

The Sametime administrator should correct the business card configuration to resolve the problem; a Sametime user cannot resolve this error on his or her own.
The business cards need to be able to contact LDAP and need to be able to correctly return a business card attribute for the email address. After correcting this configuration problem, A/V will begin working again. For steps, refer to Resolving problems with business cards. |
